Thornton & Grooms has been recognized by the American Heart Association with the “Workplace Health Achievement” in 2018 & 2019. We’re helping our team be proactive with their health and wellness by offering many wellness programs and initiatives that benefit our team members and their loved ones. Here’s a few:
- Wellness Protection Plan – In 2019, we kicked off a new program offering team members the chance to earn up to two days of Wellness PTO per year by doing simple wellness activities. Some wellness activities include: participation in our 401k program, walking 200,000 steps a month, losing weight, and getting a mammogram.
- Education & Training – We’re bringing in wellness professionals to educate our team on what matters most to them. We have had a licensed doctor come in to speak to us about depression and anxiety, each session being an hour long. We work with the local fire department to certify our team members from two years in CPR. We have invited professionals and cancer survivors to bring awareness to breast cancer.
- Preventative Screenings & Vaccinations – Our team is in and out of over 100 homes every day, exposing them to all kinds of environments. To help our team stay healthy, we provide on-site flu and Hepatitis B vaccinations. We also bring a mobile wellness truck right to our office parking lot to conduct annual wellness checks for our team members.
- Teaming Together – Each year we raise money for the American Heart Association and the American Cancer Society through participation in bake sales, contests, and 5k walks/runs.
