Farmington Hills, MI, (January 15, 2013) –Thornton & Grooms, a top local heating and cooling company, is proud to recognize an employee, Sandy, who helped a 95-year-old lady who accidentally misdialed her telephone in attempting to reach emergency medical personnel.
Recently, the elderly woman fell and when struggling to dial for help, mistakenly called Thornton and Grooms.
“Fortunately for her, Sandy picked up the phone,” says Mike Bergstrom, Thornton & Grooms owner and HVAC operations manager. “Sandy is a Thornton & Grooms hero; we’re so proud to have her on our team.”
Sandy, a Customer Service Representative, paired her compassion with her excellent customer service skills; she kept the lady on the phone while calling emergency medical services on another line. “I didn’t want her to be alone,” says Sandy.
Sandy was able to relay all the necessary information to the EMS team, and stayed on the line with the lady while they waited for help to arrive. After the EMS team arrived, Sandy was able to speak with them and give them information on the lady’s situation.
Sandy talked to the lady’s daughter the next day, and found out that the lady was recovering. Everything turned out well.
Thornton & Grooms is proud of our company’s reputation for helping the community. In this case, Sandy was able to provide essential help to one member who needed her at that moment. She is an amazing person,” Bergstrom continued.
